COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The lecture will show how to integrate the Microscope into every procedure performed in dentistry from Oral Surgery to Pediatrics and everything in between. This introduction will dispel the myths about the dental microscope. You will see how the dental team can work productively and even more efficiently with the microscope while eliminating the neck back problems that 70% of dentists experience. 16 years ago, Dr. Linger began using the microscope for 100% of the procedures he performs.

BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Linger is a general dentist in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has a concierge dental practice focused on multidisciplinary care and sedation. What should have been a career ending neck injury led him into microscopy, and 16 years later his practice is more productive than ever. Dr. Linger is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, Master of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, and Past President of AMED. He lectures all over the world on Microscope Dentistry as Online and Hands-On courses through the Dental Microscope Training Center in Charlotte, NC.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This program will examine and give detailed descriptions of the philosophy, techniques, materials, supplies, and advantages of restoring the posterior dentition with partial coverage indirect ceramic restorations. The participant will also learn how to restore an endodontically treated tooth utilizing a reinforced internal ferrell created by using Kevlar fibers and a glass reinforced restorative composite. This program will examine and give detailed descriptions of the philosophy, techniques, materials, supplies, and advantages of restoring the posterior dentition with partial coverage indirect ceramic restorations. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In this workshop the participants will restore an endodontically treated molar using a high density and high molecular weight fiber system as well as a glass rod reinforced composite to create an internal support system. The participants will have the opportunity to restore an anterior tooth with the same system.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand biomimetic adhesive dentistry and the principles of high-strength bonding
  • Understand and use high density, high molecular weight fibers to create an internal reinforcement for the tooth
  • How to apply glass rod reinforced composite to restore the structural integrity of the endodontically treated tooth

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The basic premise of ergonomics is to make the task fit the person, rather than making the person adjust to the task. Dentistry is one of the most demanding professions with a high incidence of musculoskeletal disorders, many professionals are retiring early because of neck, back, shoulder, arm, and wrist injuries. One of the greatest benefits of the dental operative microscope (DOM) use in dentistry is the increase in better ergonomics. The microscope solves two of the major problems in dentistry, lack of vision (magnification) and posture (focal distance) and that´s why ideal neutral posture is generally not attainable while operating unless you use a microscope. Numerous studies have been conducted on the prevalence of work-related pain in dentistry and the results indicate that more than half of all practicing dental professionals experience work-related pain, with averages of 30% of early retirement due to musculoskeletal disorders in the USA.
