Restoring the endodontically treated tooth using Biomimetic principles
Leveraging technology and research to create long lasting results

Presenter: Dr. Mark Limosani
Date & Time: Monday, May 4, 2026 · 07:00 PM EST

Webinar Description:

This webinar reviews the biomimetic approach to restoring endodontically treated teeth, emphasizing preservation of dentin, thoughtful access design, and adhesion-based restorative strategies to improve long-term outcomes. It covers the biomechanical changes that occur after root canal therapy, the importance of pericervical dentin, adhesive protocols such as immediate dentin sealing, and material selection for core build-ups, composites, and fiber posts. Clinical decision-making for anterior and posterior teeth, management of deep margins and cracked teeth, and current research on fracture resistance and restoration longevity are also discussed, along with practical techniques clinicians can implement to enhance predictability and tooth survival.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the biomechanical changes that occur in teeth following root canal therapy and how these influence restorative decision-making.
  2. Apply biomimetic principles to the restoration of endodontically treated teeth to reduce fracture risk and improve longevity.
  3. Identify access and restorative strategies that preserve critical dentin and support long-term tooth survival.
  4. Select appropriate adhesive systems and restorative materials based on current research and biomechanical principles.
  5. Evaluate indications for posts, partial-coverage restorations, and full-coverage crowns using an evidence-based framework.
  6. Implement practical, clinically relevant techniques that enhance outcomes in everyday restorative practice.

COURSE INSTRUCTOR:

Dr. Mark Limosani

Dr. Mark Anthony Limosani received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Montreal in 2007. Since then, he completed a one-year multi-disciplinary residency at the Queen Elizabeth Oral Health Center, a McGill University affiliated program. Following one year of private practice and many hours of continuing education, he then followed his dream and attended the specialty program in Endodontics at Nova Southeastern University where he also received his Masters Degree in Dental Science. He won the “Robert A. Uchin Endodontic Award” for his presentation during Nova’s endodontic alumni day.

Dr. Limosani is both a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He is currently president of the Florida Association of Endodontists. Dr. Limosani is the only endodontist in the Tri-County area to offer all levels of sedation in his practice.

Dr. Limosani has lectured locally and internationally on many topics in endodontics including: dental traumatology, the restoration of endontically treated teeth, restoratively minded endodontics, diagnosis and treatment planning and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) use in endodontics. He is currently achieving a Mastership Program at the Allemen Center for Biomimetic Dentistry.
