Biography:
Keynote Speaker
Dr. Spear has been recognized by numerous associations for his contributions to dentistry. In 1993, he was awarded the Christensen Award for Excellence in Restorative Education from the Chicago Dental Society. In 1995, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry presented him with a special award for having advanced the Art and Science of cosmetic dentistry in the United States. In 1996, he received the Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning from the Seattle Study Club.

In 2003 he and colleague Vincent G. Kokich were awarded the first ever Presidents Award for excellence in education from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He also earned the 2004 Distinguished Alumnus Award from Pacific Lutheran University his undergraduate Alma Mater. And in 2013 was named Distinguished Alumnus for the University of Washington School of Dentistry. In 2018 he received the first ever Charles Pincus – Ronald Goldstein Lifetime Achievement Award in Esthetic Dentistry from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. In 2019 he received the Distinguished lecturer award from the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics. In 2023 he was awarded the American Academy of Prosthodontics Gold Medallion Award for his influence on the profession of Prosthodontics. In 2024 he received the American Equilibration Society President’s award for excellence in Prosthodontic Education.

Dr. Christopher Laing
Biography:
Dr. Christopher Laing is a graduate of Florida A&M University, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College and did his GPR Residency at University of Tennessee. He is currently the Clinical Dental Director at Neighborhood Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL. Chris volunteers with Dentistry from the Heart.
Dr. Kiyotaka Shibahara, DDS, PhD
Biography:
After graduating from Nagasaki University in 2000, he completed his training in oral surgery at Saga Medical School until 2002. He graduated from Nagasaki University Graduate School in 2006 and was involved in oral surgery and implant treatment at Nagasaki University’s Department of Oral Surgery until 2009. He opened his own clinic in 2014 and was appointed as a clinical professor at Nagasaki University’s Department of Oral Implantology in 2024. His areas of expertise are oral surgery and implant treatment using surgical microscopes, as well as regenerative medicine and digital dentistry.

Judy McIntyre, DMD
Biography:
After many positive experiences at the dentist as a young child, Dr. McIntyre developed an interest to become a dentist. Originally from Los Angeles, she attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she performed research on dental unit waterline biofilms. After graduation, Dr. McIntyre attended the Adams School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her endodontics residency.

Alongside renowned researchers in the field of endodontics, traumatology, and pediatric dentistry, her thesis and research regarding traumatic dental injuries has been published in numerous professional journals. Dr. McIntyre has served on the MA Dental Society (MDS) as a Guest Board Member and is proud to have participated in the ADA Diversity in Leadership Institute as well as the MDS Leadership Institute. She has served on the AAE Board of Directors, and various AAE Committees while in private practice. Andras Forster, DMD, PhD
Biography:
Dr. Forster graduated in 2006. He completed a three year full time residency programme at the Szeged University and received a specialisation in Operative Dentistry and Prosthodontics in 2009. He continued to teach operative dentistry at the Szeged University as an assistant professor for five more years. He has been studying, teaching and researching biomimetic methods since 2009 and is a pioneer of the biomimetic concept in his home country. In 2013 he transitioned to a private practice and from 2016 for 9 years he was the leading restorative dentist at the world famous clinic of Dr. Istvan Urban in Budapest.

Currently he operates his own private practice built on microscope enhanced minimally invasive dentistry. In 2019 he got his Phd degree for the thesis “Biomimetic Restoration of Endodontically Treated Posterior Teeth”. In the publications of the thesis, he laid down the foundations of the new generation short fibre reinforced restorations of endodontically treated teeth. He is the author and co-author of several international publications. He is an international lecturer and has founded his own education platform, the Biomimetic Hub.


Masoud Hassanzadeh, DDS
Biography:
Masoud Hassan Zadeh has been following the principles of biomimetic restorative dentistry since 2019. With a deep passion for this branch of dentistry, he treats patients daily at his own practice in Drachten, the Netherlands. He is driven by the concept of ‘healthy ageing’ and aims to break the downward spiral of restored elements. Masoud graduated from Ege University in Izmir, Turkey, in 2015 and obtained his registration from ACTA in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 2018. Over the past few years, he has authored several publications in Dutch, sharing the latest developments and techniques in the field. In 2023, he published the book “Glossary of Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry.”

Homa H. Zadeh, DDS, PhD

Dr. Zadeh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from USC Ostrow School of Dentistry. He completed post-doctoral clinical training in periodontology, as well as a PhD degree in immunology, at the University of Connecticut Health Center (UCHC) School of Dental Medicine and School of Medicine, respectively. Edward A. Mclaren, DDS, MDC

Dr. McLaren is a Prosthodontist and Master Dental Ceramist. Dr McLaren is a retired Professor from both UCLA and UAB School of Dentistry, and an Honorary Professor at the University of Buenos Aires. He was founder and first director of the Post Graduate Esthetic Dentistry at the UCLA school of Dentistry. George Kotsakis DDS, MS
Biography:
George Kotsakis is a Board-Certified Periodontist trained at the University of Minnesota. He is currently a Professor of Oral Biology & Assistant Dean for Clinical Research at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He directs the NIH-funded Clinical Research Center conducting clinical trials and translational research on the biological mechanisms underlying peri-implant bone loss and developing novel treatments for dental and biomedical implants. Dr. Kotsakis has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and textbook chapters with more than 25,000 citations of his work.

Makoto Ono, DDS
Biography:
Makoto Ono, D.D.S., graduated from Asahi University School of Dentistry in 2010. He has worked at Shijo-karasuma Dental Clinic in Kyoto since 2011, studying under Dr. Yasukazu Miyamoto, a leading expert in periodontology. A Fellow and Board Member of the ISPPS, he is also an instructor at JIADS in Periodontal Plastic Surgery and a regular contributor to Quintessence Publishing. He received the Best Poster Presentation Award at the 2016 JACP Meeting and the Best Presentation Award in root coverage at the 2023 JACP Meeting. He co-authored a book on periodontal regenerative therapy in 2020.


Fereidoun Daftary, DDS, MSD
Biography:
Dr. Daftary has completed the advanced post-doctoral training in prosthodontics, as well as Master of Science degree (MSD) at Boston University. Prior to that, he earned his DDS from the National University of Iran. Dr. Alqadoumi earned his first DDS degree from the University of Jordan in 2012 and later obtained another DDS degree from Loma Linda University in 2016. He pursued post-graduate training in Periodontics & implant surgery at Loma Linda University, completing his MS degree. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University, overseeing advanced periodontics clinics, and operates a specialized periodontics clinic in private practice.

Ali Sajadi, DDS, MSD, FACD, FICD
Biography:
Dr. Ali Sajadi, a native of Houston, TX, is a board-certified Periodontist, Oral and Implant Surgeon specializing in a wide range of periodontal care, oral surgery and facial esthetics. Having received his undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and in Economics, he was a noted member of the Forsyth Institute’s Human Genome Project Initiative. Upon graduation, he took on a position as Senior Network Account Manager with UnitedHealthcare, and for 3 years rose through the ranks to become one of the most successful negotiators within the company. Following his passion to help people, Dr. Sajadi completed a 4 year doctorate degree at Indiana University School of dentistry in 2012 and moved back to Houston to complete his residency in Periodontics and Dental Hygiene. There, Dr. Sajadi continued to improve on his skill set by being proficient in all implant and dental surgical modalities with a passion for the rehabilitation and regeneration of periodontal and osseous tissues. Beyond and within the scope of Periodontics and Dentistry, Dr. Sajadi is a published author in the literature and noted speaker for several companies. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontics, Texas Society of Periodontists, Greater Houston Dental Society, Greater Houston Periodontal Society, American Dental Association and the Southwest Society for Periodontists. Paul P. Chang, DDS, MS
Biography:
Dr. Chang is one of only few dual board-certified dental specialists in both periodontics and prosthodontics in the United States. Dr. Yasuko Nemoto, DDS
Biography:
Yasuko Nemoto is a private practitioner and the director of Omotesando Dental Office in Tokyo, Japan. She specialized in Prosthodontics at Niigata University Dental School, where she graduated in 1992. While working as a private practitioner, she continued her research and obtained a Ph.D. in Periodontology from Niigata University in 2017.
Currently, she serves as an instructor for the Perio and Implant Course at the Japan Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. She is also a board member of the Osseointegration Study Club of Japan and a member of the Japanese Society of Periodontology.
Dr. Lauralee Nygaard, DDS, MS
Biography:
Dr. Lauralee Nygaard is a Board-Certified Periodontist who has been in private practice in Spokane, Washington since 1995. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, a fellow of the International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons. And is director of the Meridian Dental Study Group an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club.

W. Peter Nordland DMD, MS, FISPPS
Biography:
Dr. W. Peter Nordland has been the president of the International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons for more than 25 years. As one of the founders of this organization, he has been on the forefront of Periodontal Plastic Surgical procedures and has taught new techniques and innovations at almost every US dental school. His oral surgical teaching programs have taken him around the world. He is considered the originator of modern connective tissue grafting and has developed the micro surgical instruments for this procedure. His lectures help facilitate idealized treatment plans and new options for patients seeking esthetic cosmetic repair. He is on the Executive Council of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and will be president of that organization in the near future.
David Clark, DDS
Biography:
Dr. Clark is director of Bioclear Learning Centers International. He founded the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, creates curriculum for dental schools, and has lectured in twenty-seven countries. He developed the Bioclear Matrix System for placement of biologically appropriate, esthetically pleasing direct composite restorations for facilitating Injection Molding of the Clark Class I and Class II preparations, diastema closure and black triangle elimination combined with papilla regeneration. He is actively collaborating with schools to move beyond the tragically outdated GV Black cavity preparations.

The Clark Class I and Clark Class II preparations and injection molded restorations (non-retentive, compression based and infinity edge margins) have been confirmed in multiple studies. He owns several patents. He is acknowledged as fathers of Minimally Invasive Endodontics, which at first was rejected by most North American endodontists but is now being embraced by the mainstream. He, Dr Sheets, and Dr. Paquette penned the first classification system for dentin and enamel cracks based on sixteen power magnification. He has conducted studies on cracked teeth. Jean C. Wu, DDS
Biography:
Dr. Jean Wu graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science degree in 1990 and earned a Masters in Prosthodontics in 1994 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She completed advanced training in Maxillofacial Prosthetics studying at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr Wu maintained a full time Prosthodontic private practice in Australia and was a Prosthodontist at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne. She was also a distinguished lecturer and clinical instructor at the University of Melbourne and Past-President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society.

After relocating to the United States in 1999, Dr. Wu earned a DDS at the University of Tennessee and was an instructor and lecturer in the Restorative Dentistry Department. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with highest honors and awarded membership of Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Richard Doggett Dean and Margarite Taylor Dean Honorary Odontological Society for her outstanding dental achievements. Dr. Wu is the President of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics and Past-President of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry. She is also a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, American Society for Women Dentists, American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Orange County Dental Society. Currently, Dr. Wu is a Partner in the Sheets, Paquette and Wu Dental Practice and on faculty with the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute, a non-profit international teaching and research center. She has published several scientific papers and co-authored chapters in dental textbooks on dental implants and materials.

Biography:
Dr. Cherilyn Sheets maintains a full-time private practice in Newport Beach, California for prosthodontics and esthetic rehabilitative dentistry. She is an international educator, clinician, author, and researcher. Dr. Sheets has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, chapters for textbooks, and given lecturers/hands on training to thousands of clinicians. She has been active in her Alma Mater, USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, in various roles over the years since graduation, and holds numerous Fellowships in Dental Organizations.

Dr. Sheets is the Founder and Co-Executive Director of the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute, a non-profit research and educational institute. She has co-invented InnerView Systems, a new dental diagnostic, and co-founded Perimetrics Inc. to house the 21 patents and bring the science of Quantitative Percussion Diagnostics (QPD) to the marketplace. She is a Past-President of both the American Association of Women Dentists and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, as well as being involved in professional meeting planning for decades.
Some of her awards include the 2002 Gordon Christensen Award for Excellence in Lecturing, the 2004 USC School of Dentistry Alumnus of the Year Award, the 2006 Section Honor Award (Distinguished Dentist Award) from the California Section of the Pierre Fauchard International Honor Dental Academy, the 2008 Dr. Edward B. Shils Entrepreneurial Education Fund Award, and the 2023 American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Charles L. Pincus/Ronald E. Goldstein Award of Excellence.
Dr. Sheets serves on numerous editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals.
