AMED-PENN DENTAL MICROSCOPY MEETING 2018
SEPTEMBER 28-30, 2018
17th Annual Meeting & Scientific Session of the Academy of Microscope, Enhanced Dentistry
PENN DENTAL MEDICINE • UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA • PHILADELPHIA, PA
I am honored to announce the AMED-PENN Dental Microscopy Meeting 2018/17th Annual Meeting & Scientific Session of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry. The Academy, in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, the meeting will take place in
The newly remodeled Penn Dental Medicine facility will be a fantastic venue for our scientific session. This will be the first AMED meeting in the Northeast and it will bring an international group of clinical speakers as well as attendees from all over the world.
Both AMED and Penn have been at the forefront of teaching dental microscopy. AMED is the world’s leading organization of dental microscopy, serving the dental profession and the public through teaching and research in the art and science of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, and Penn was the first dental school to implement a microscope training center since 1992 and to institutionalize the use of the dental microscope in student training.
The 2018 AMED-PENN meeting will provide much more exposure for our sponsors than at any previous AMED meeting. This partnership with Penn will provide a great meeting along with a student forum and an educators’ forum.
We are also proud to announce that we will have an Introduction to Dental Microscopy program. This will provide non-AMED members and other dentists who are not using the microscope with an opportunity to experience dental microscopy without having to register for the entire AMED meeting.
After the intro course, those attendees will be visiting the sponsors in the exhibit hall and will also have the opportunity to continue participating in the scientific session if they so desire.
2018 promises to be an exciting year for AMED, with our most ambitious agenda ever. AMED is focused on expanding the use of the dental microscope to all branches of dentistry. The Academy will need your help to accomplish it.
One key element of the mission is to make it easier for dental schools to incorporate the use of the microscope into their predoctoral and non-endo residency programs. AMED is providing training and support for both faculty and dental students to help them learn and incorporate the microscope into their daily practice. AMED is currently working with dental Schools in the U.S. and abroad to achieve this goal.
