For 2019, AMED will build on the big success of our 2018 meeting, which saw attendance grow by 70% from 2017. AMED’s 2019 meeting will be a multidisciplinary meeting marketed to ALL dentists and specialists, and not just microscope users. Our program will feature speakers from all over the world focused on better clinical outcomes in all disciplines from Oral Surgery to Orthodontics. We have also partnered with the Japanese Association of Microscope Dentistry to bring speakers and attendees from Japan.
The 2019 Multidisciplinary Excellence Meeting hosted by AMED will provide much more exposure for our sponsors than at any previous AMED meeting. This will be the largest group AMED has ever marketed to for our meeting. In 2018 AMED took on many ambitious projects and was able to complete them. Including AMED’s Certified Microscope User Examination and Certification, along with AMED’s Fellowship and Mastership programs.
We are also proud to announce that we will have an Introduction to Dental Microscopy program. This will provide non-AMED members and other dentists who are not using the microscope an opportunity to get an introduction to dentistry with a microscope without having to register for the AMED meeting. After the intro course those attendees will be visiting the sponsors in the exhibit hall.
AMED is focused on expanding the use of the dental microscope to all branches of dentistry. The Academy will need your help to accomplish it. One key element of that mission is to make it easier for dental schools to incorporate the use of the microscope into their predoctoral and non-endo residency programs. AMED is providing training and support for both faculty and dental students to help them learn and incorporate the microscope into their daily practice. AMED is currently working with dental schools in the U.S. and abroad to achieve this goal.
