Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry (AMED)
This presentation is about the interplay between surgical microscopy, CT-scan imagery, and oral implantology with emphasis on sinus floor elevation procedures. I hope to show the advantages and benefits of implant microsurgery.
I. Surgical decisions in the case of 6-mm subantral bone height
II. Imperfect fidelity of CT-scan imagery
III. Sinus anatomy and the evolving position of graft material
IV. Using a microscope to aid transcrestal SFE
V. Removing polyps with a rigidscope and other instruments before implant surgery
VI. Show the value of teamwork in microsurgery.
After completing this course, the clinician will better understand how a non-blind approach to the sinus floor helps to protect the sinus membrane.
