Description:
In this course Dr. Steier will explain and emphasize the importance of implementing the dynamic component into occlusal anatomy for the long term survival of direct posterior composite restorations. The biomechanic wax-up concept as described and used by dental technicians is translated one to one when demonstrating the "comp-up" technique. After the presentation the participant will appreciate and understand the vertical and horizontal determinants of mandibular movement and morphology and their relation to the occlusal anatomy.

OBJECTIVES

After completing this course, the clinician will be able to:
1. Understand the influences of mandibular movements the posterior occlusal morphology.
2. Learn to record a fast occlusal analysis before starting occlusal rehabilitation with composite. 3. Understand how create biomechanic occlusal reliefwith composite.
