Dental Implant Microsurgery
Immediate Placement and Provisionals
November 2nd and 3rd
"Learning to Become a Better Surgeon"
Co-Sponsored By
The Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry
Day One: Dental Implant Microsurgery
The hallmark of our microsurgery teaching protocol is immediate implant placement in extraction sites with socket gap graft and screw retained esthetic tissue supporting provisionals.
Microsurgery drilling skills are developed for sites in every maxillary tooth socket. We focus on osteotomy preparation for immediate placement in the maxillary esthetic zone. Classical implant techniques are taught utilizing anatomical bone and soft tissue models to simulate implant microsurgery. Exercises include osteotomy preparation, trouble shooting complications, implant position correction, and lateral drilling technique.
Day Two: Immediate Implant Provisionals
Students create a screw retained immediate dental implant provisional and a custom impression coping for the maxillary central incisor. Clinical dexterity is improved and guided through microscope practice and live, high definition video demonstrations.

The Facility
MTI is the only facility in the world designed exclusively for teaching dental implant microsurgery. Dentists from around the world come to Santa Barbara for training. They return to their practice implementing principles of microsurgery they have learned. Those who use loops acquire new surgical skills and new knowledge during their workshop experience.
Our basic tenants are atraumatic technique, accurate osteotomy preparation and esthetic provisional fabrication. These principles comprise a philosophy of implant practice that makes for better surgery and esthetic outcomes. In a calm and structured environment, these workshops are a truly transformation experience.
